Q & A
Is it effective for the elderly?
I think you can expect results (although this may vary from person to person).
The more severe the skeletal deformity and the more muscle strength declines, the less likely it is that improvement will occur, but there are many patients in their 70s and 80s who have seen improvement. Some patients who had been taking painkillers for years have stopped taking them, and some have almost completely stopped feeling chronic back and shoulder stiffness. Some patients have also seen their posture improve.
We recommend that if you have lower back pain or stiff shoulders, we encourage you to normalize your skeletal balance as soon as possible before symptoms such as compression fractures or worn-down joint cartilage worsen. This will improve pain and mobility, and help prevent the mental burden caused by pain, lifestyle-related diseases caused by lack of exercise, and worsening dementia due to decreased activity.
